From a sound and blissfull deep sleep this last Tuesday morning I was awaken by a loud clattering on the rooftop. No Santa wasn’t here again, it was a 10 minute hail storm like I’ve never seen. I lay there for a few minutes snuggling under the warm covers trying to figure out what the heck the noise was when my curiosity got the better of me. Braving the cold air I jumped out of bed, I ran and peeked through the blinds of the patio door. The rain and hail were coming down so hard I could barely see the fence! I stood and stared for a few more minutes, then pleased that I had satisfied my curiosity I allowed the still warm bed to call me back. That feeling didn’t last long though and I got up for the second time to watch the hail storm pass.
Once the pea sized pellots finished falling I took my camera outside to get a better glimpse of the yard. I was surprised to see just how big and round the pellets were. And how many covered the yard!

Those were quite some good-sized hail balls!
