For my upcoming 55th birthday this year, which by the way is hard for me to believe I’ve reached, my dear friend Carol, gave me a day at the Corona Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa. Since I’ve never been but often imagined what it must be like to spend a whole day goofing off at such a place, you’ve probably guessed I was so very excited to go! Taking the toll roads made the trip out to Corona fairly quick and painless and traffic was light to boot.

From the outside Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa sits in the midst of a red clay desert, surrounded by tall plentiful palm trees, ferns, and other such greenery. The buildings are spanish in style with clay roofs, the grounds have winding pathways surrounded by brick walkways and edged in more lush greenery. Meandering pathways take you to their pools, spas, mineral baths, saunas, steam rooms, roman baths, Club Mud and The Wafa. Plenty of lounge areas are tucked away behind all it’s greenery, making you feel even more like you are in a tropical paradise.

There were several areas I would consider my favorite, but to choose one would be really hard. I loved having our lounge chairs under the bamboo on its enormous metal arbor. The setting was as if we were in our own little living cabana. The lounge pool with its 2 feet of warm clear water and soft blue lounge cushions came in as a close 2nd to the Club Mud, where as you can clearly see in this picture I really got into. My little point and shoot Canon camera has finally bit the dust, but I think it’s clear I had a great time. Thank you so very much Carol for such a relaxing day. I will remember it and treasure our time spent together forever.
