This was the last evening Pauline would be here, so we had a few friends over to say hello, catch up on old times, and drink a little wine. Pauline knew Jill, lower left, when she lived here in Mission Viejo. Karen, lower right, was a new friend she met through us last year when her and daughter Valerie came out for a visit after being away for 9 years. Carol, not pictured, was another friend Pauline knew back when she had the same zip code. She was unable to make it tonight due to other obligations, but was here in spirit. We all sat around the table sipping wine and munching on grapes, cheese, and a chocolate bundt cake Karen brought over. Pauline and Jill are school teachers, and since Jill’s last day was yesterday they had a few stories to share. All in all it was a good evening, and although Mission Viejo temperatures were still warm, we enjoyed the air conditioning and said our good byes to Pauline. It may be a while until we see her again and we want her to know how much we love her and enjoyed seeing her again so soon.
